Two Pilots Killed
LAKE ELLESMERE ACCIDENT
An airman pilot under training, Leading Aircraftman Norman Joseph Graham Marshall, was killed and a second airman pilot, Leading Aircraftman “Donald James Brown, was seriously injured and later died in the Christchurch Public Hospital when an aircraft of the Royal New Zealand Air Force stalled and crashed at Lake Ellesmere yesterday afternoon.
L.A.C. Marshall was born at Springston, Christchurch, in 1920, and his father is Mr. J. F. Marshall, Springston. At the time of his enlistment he was employed at the Public Works Department, Wellington.
The mother of L.A.C. Brown is Mrs. C. M. Gilmour, 9 Prince Street. Wellington. .
A Court of Inquiry will be held.
