The following temporary promotions in the Second New Zealand Expedition ary Force have been approved by the Governor-General : — Lieutenant F. N. Armstrong (N.Z. Staff Corps), Adjutant, 'Cqptral District Infantry Battalion. Lieutenant D. C. Powrie (N.Z. Staff Corps), Company Commander. 2nd Lieutenant N. S. Triggs, Quartermaster, Central District Infantry Battalion. 2nd Lieutenant R. H. Matthews, Company Commander. 2nd Lieutenant J. Milne, Company Commander. 2nd Lieutenant C. R. McColl, Company Commander.

The following appointments, promotions, transfers and resignations or officers of the New Zealand military forces have been approved : — Captain (temp. Major) F. M. Jenkins, D.C.M., N.Z. Staff Corps, to be Staff Officer. Training, Supplies and Transport, Army Headquarters, in addition to his present appointment of Chief Instructor, A.S.C., Army School of Instructor!, Trentham.

Major J. G. Jeffery, M.C., V.D., Area Staff Officer, No. 11 Arqa, Dunedin, is granted the temporary rank of Lieu tenant-Colonel while holding his present appointment.

Duke, M.C., relinquishes the appointment of Assistant Area Officer, No. 9 Area, Nelson, is appointed Area Officer, No. 9 Area, Nelson, and is granted the temporary rank of Major while so employed. Captain O. D. Sutcliffe, M.C., attached to the Branch of the Quartermaster-Gen-eral, Army Headquarters, is appointed Staff Officer, Movements and Quartering, Army Headquarters, Wellington-, vice Major (temp. Lieutenant-Colonel) V. J. Innes, N.Z. Staff Corps, and is granted the temporary rank of Major while so employed. Captain G. Whitham relinquishes the appointment of Deputy Assistant Quar-termaster-General, Central Military District, Wellington, and is appointed Area Officer, No. 8 Area, New Plymouth. 2nd Lieutenant (temp.)
