MANY WILLING HELPERS

Work For Week At A.N.A. Club

Large and enthusiastic attendances marked Friday and Saturday night dances at the A.N.A. Club in Wellington. On both nights there were present men of the Army. Navy, Merchant Navy and Air Force, and the comfortable facilities offering were made full use of. Though the club is not so well known just at the present to a number of men, later it will prove a popular rendezvous with many. Already good daily average attendances of men have l»een the rule since the club began its daily opening from last Sunday week, the hours being from 11 in the morning to 10.30 at night. The boys have been coming in to write letters, do some work, and rest. Light meals have been served at all hours.

During the evening on Saturday the gathering' was addressed by Miss Johnston, matron, and Miss Guthrie, education officer, on the ship which recently brought the party of Scots children to New Zealand. Both expressed their pleasure at being present and the crowd sang “For they are jolly good fellows’’ and gave three cheers for them.
