Military Force Promotions
Lieutenant-Colonel C. J. Pierce, M.C., E.D., Waikato Mounted Rifles, relinquishes command of the regiment on being seconded for duty with the Special Force. Captain J. M. Reidy, N.Z.S.C., is appointed Instructor, Army School of Instruction, Trentham.. Captain H. N. Early, N.Z.S.C., is appointed Instructor, Army School of Instruction, Trentham. Lieutenant J. K. Collins, N.Z.S.C., is appointed Instructor, Army School of Instruction, Trentham. Captain E. T. W. Love, Wellington Regiment (City of Wellington’s Own), ceases to be attached to Army Headquarters, Wellington, and is posted to the Maori Battalion, Special Force. N.Z. Staff Corps. Captain (temporary Major) H. G. Woolier relinquishes the temporary rank of major' and is seconded for duty with the Fiji Defence Force. Captain R. J. D. Davis, Retired List, to be Captain, and is appointed Instructor, Army School of Instruction, Trentham. N.Z. Temporary Staff. ' 2nd Lieutenant R. H. Quilliam, Retired List, to be Captain, and is appointed assistant to the Director of Mobilisation, Army Headquarters, Wellington. . ' Lieutenant R. M. Doughty (late N.Z. Expeditionary Force) to be Lieutenant and is appointed Officer Commanding Guard, Somes Island. 2nd Lieutenant G. R. Holderness (late Imperial Army) to be 2nd Lieutenant and is appointed Adjutant, 2nd Field Company, Corps of N.Z. Engineers, Wellington., North Auckland Mounted Rifles. Major D. T. Wood is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel. Wellington Regiment. Captain A. E. Gorton, M.M., from the Reserve of Officers, to be Captain, and is posted to the Ist Battalion. Lieutenant J. R. Davies, from the Auckland Regiment, to be Lieutenant, and is posted to the Ist Battalion. 2nd Lieutenant W. A. Ritchie, 3rd Cadet Battalion, to be Lieutenant. Nelson, Marlborough and West Coast Regiment. D. J. B. Halley, 8.E., A.M.1.C.E., A.M.N.Z.1.E., to be 2nd Lieutenant (temporary), and is posted to the Ist Battalion. N.Z. Medical Corps. Major A. A. Tennent, M. 8., seconded for duty with the Special Force, is appointed Senior Medical Officer, Waiouru Military Camp, while being temporarily employed at that camp.
