Business Manager’s Annual Report

In presenting a report of the year’s working to 31st December 1956, I am pleased to state that there have been increases in the number of “White RibbonV’ posted out, as well as in the number of Beacons and Boys and Girls’ Supplements. The following is the distribution of the 115 new subscribers: North Island: Northland 20, Auckland 12, South Auckland 8, Wanganui 2, Manawatu 5, Hawke’s Bay 1, Wellington 8, a total of 56. South Island: Marlborough 2, Nelson 9, North Canterbury 9, South Canterbury 7, Otago 29, Southland 3, a total of 59. The Union with the largest number of subscribers is Dunedin Central with 81, Riccarton comes next with 57, and Wellington Union 55. Dunedin Central gained the most new subscribers, 19, while Whangarei followed with 12. . On a per entage basis with a Union membership of under 20, Balclutha gained the highest, 7 new subscribers, or 40 per cent. The Beacon: Average monthly number sent out is 1,075, and Boys' an<l Girls’ Supplements, approximately 7,150. Thanks. Our thanks are due to Mr. M. H.
