Hali was tastefully arranged with dahlias and michaelmas daisies. Present 2K ladies, mostly young mothers, and 29 young children. Mrs. Jolly presided. Mrs. Raynor led devotions. Mrs. Jolly in her opening words of welcome also expressed thanks to all those who had so generously helped with the shop on the previous Friday, when the sum of £9 was raised for the Maori Girls’ Hostel Fund in Auckland. She also expressed regret at the absence of the Cradle Roll Superintendent, Miss Edmed, saying that Miss Ednied was worthy of the highest praise lor the devoted w'ork she was doing for the Cradle Roll and the W.C.T.U. in general. Since she had taken over the C.R. twelve months ago there had been added 43 names. Mrs. Jolly read out a list of these names and then conducted a short initiative consecration service. Mrs. Roberts, the District President, gave a convincing temperance address. A competition arranged by Mrs. Noble was won by Mrs. H. T. Smith. Mrs. Raynor tang “I'll Walk Betide You.” For the afternoon tea the children, wearing paper hats, were suitably arranged on the platform. The Bring and Buy Stall brought gratifying results.
