“ Pneumonia,” says Dr T. I>. (Vothere, of Connecticut, “ is found to occur most frequently in person who use alcohol even in great moderation. The statistics of live New England cities show that HO per cent of all cases of pneumonia occurred in persons who used spirits. The same fact is true in diseases of the heart and kidneys, in apoplexy, and other maladies. In the treatment of these diseases, physicians always recognise the increased danger and liability to death in persons who have used spirits.”
