TAUPO.
As the Government have now teased the building •■ subsidies for
churches and social halls, it has been decided not to go on with the building of the proposed church at Nukuhau, but to try and encourage the Maori people of the whole district to make use of St. Andrew's Church m Taupo, which was erected some years ago for the use of both Maori and Pakeha residents. The Bishop expects to spend a Sunday m Taupo early m July, and it is hoped to make his visit an opportunity for a united gathering of Maoris from the whole Taupo district for a service at St. Andrew's Church. At this t service the people from each centre are to be asked to bring special contributions towards wiping out the debt on the Taupo Mission District.
