Sunday Scbool Conference.

GiSBORNE. ' A conference of Clergy and Sunday School Teachers from the Poverty Bay parishes was held m Gisborne on June 3rd. A Service of Intercession, with an inspiring address by the Rev. D. J. Davies, was held m Holy Trinity Church at 11 a.m., followed by a light lunch m the Hall. The conference was opened at 1 p.m. by Canon Packe, who briefly sketched the main principles of Sunday School work. He then explained the proposed scheme for a Diocesan Sunday School Teachers' Association, and it was clear from the discussion that followed that the Waiapu Archdeaconry would welcome greater uniformity m the subjects taught each year, and any help that could be given m the procuring of books and equipment. It was agreed that efforts should be made to get a Diocesan Organiser, without sending to England for One, and the wish was expressed that a Summer School for Sunday School Teachers might be held m Poverty Bay next January or February.
