Society, London, which is doing such splendid work with its 140 homes and over 5000 children now in them. It was an inspiring service. At the Three Hours' Service the church was almost" full, many showing their gratitude and devotion by remaining right through. The offerings for St. Mary's Home amounted to, £14 Bs«4d. . ; On Easter Eve over 20 came for the decorations, much ,of which had been prepared on Good Friday. The church has never looked more beautiful. 1 On Easter Day there were 280 Communicants, which is 38 more than. we have had on one day before. The Vicar was assisted by the Rev. P. W. Martin, who often helps. On Low Sunday evening the Bishop preached to a large congregation, and announced the appointment of the Vicar to a canonry in the St. Columba stall, which has to do ' with the missionary w<srk of the Diocese. He commended the parish for the splendid missionary spirit it had shown; £167 has been given to missions during the past year, and two carpenters had offered for missionary work. The Boy Scouts went up the river for a short camp at Easter time.
