Holy Trinty, Gisborne.

Vicar: Rey. OE. Packe, M.A. . Assistant Priests: Rev. W. T. Drake, ■ Rev. A; Neild,' M.A. The .churchhas been beautified by a large memorial window m the south transept, to 'the memory of the late Mr and Mrs Barker, senr., the subject being the Ascension of Our, Lord. The work has been well done by the artists. We should like to see a really good east window added. We need more Sunday School teachers, and we appeal to those who love Christ's little ones, to come forward and teach for an hour on a Sunday afternoon. 'Some of the; classes are very large and need dividing. IWill those who are willing to help m this important work please apply to the Vicar or Rev. W. T. Drake? The , children's Sunday School library badly needs replenishing, and we would be grateful for gifts of books from parishioners. In a parish of this size we should have a really good library for the children. We need a great many more subscribers for the "Church Gazette." This paper should be m every Church home m the parish, and if each one became 1 responsible for getting another sub- • scriber it would greatly help. A Service of Admission for members of the Girls' Club was held lately, when 12 girls were admitted and received their cards of membership and Rules of Life. This is the fourth Admission Service to be held this year. During the service, the Vicar gave a most helpful address on '•Faithfulness/ 'The membership is over 100 now. The Girls' Club have decided to hold their Annual Sale of IWork on November 25th. Will parishioners please take note of it? Miss Maile Akroyd and her school Mends were responsible for an enjoyable entertainment m aid of the Waifs and Strays Society recently. The .entertainment was held .at Mrs Akroyd's residence, and it included the playlet " The Little Pink Lady," £5 10s being added to the muchneeded funds of the society. The children are to be congratulated on their success. Weekly Bible classes' are held m the private schools, and also before school hours m three public schools; This is a very valuable part pi the clergy's work.

The. Ladies '-Guild nas placed a memorial tablet m the church to the memory' of Mrs©. H. Parris, which was dedicated and unveiled joy the .Vicar at a special service. During her lifetime she was an ardent worker of the Giiilcl, and also a faithful communicant. She passed away a few months ago after a lengthy illness borne with .Christian fortitude. Her noble life still speaks to us. May she rest m peace> and may light perpetual shine upon 'her. This month- one of pur most energetic Church workers left the parish. Mrs Tustin was a member of the Mothers' Union and Laidies' 'Guild, and also taught m the Sunday School for l4 years, as well as the'Biitle m schodis for -some time. ;She "will be much missed m th'e Master V ' work. Before she left she received parting gi|ts from the Ladies'' Guild, Miothers' Union arid Sunday School teachers.
