Vicar: Rev. F. W, WMbhy, The Bishop met his people at a social gathering m the Waitahora School. The Bishop spoke : on the Women's Social Work about to be inaugurated m the Diocese, far which a Deaconess, trained m rescue work and other works of mercy and love, was arriving from England next month. She would commence the Home m Napter, but the arms of mercy would be extended to all the Diocese. An address of welcome to his Lordship was presented by Mr Ashton Barker on behalf of the Church, to which he replied feelingly. The ladies had provided afternoon tea and quite a number of gentlemen were waited on by the gracious . hostesses. There would have been many more present had it not been the annual meeting day of the A. and Z. Society. Sunday was again fine. Mr TinkO&r led the /way to the cemetery and presented a petition to the Bishop to consecrate a portion of it for the burial ground of the Church". Following him was the Vicar, then the Bishop, tbien the congregation, and m that order all walked the bounds of the portion to be set apart. The service was a very solemn one. " We rest m hope." The service of Holy Comimunion, which sticceeded this, m the School, was particularly solemn and inspiring, and all joined m most heartily. , . ! The Bishop was the guest of Mr and Mrs Blyth. ; Mr Cunningham drove him to Weber m time for three o'clock service m All Saints' Church, where a large congregation was waiting and which re-assembled for Evensong at seven. The addresses will long be remembered— hso simple and yet so forcible, showjing that the purpose of Giod was to win men by lO've. Oni Monday we were again favoured with a fine day. The annual meeting was held at the Vicarage. The accounts showed that £242 had passed through the Churchwardens' hands during the year, and there was a balance of £6 m hand, and all liabilities paid. The Bishop was pleased to congratulate the Weber people on their position, for although living m a scattered district their Church and all else was paid for.
