The silver lever hunting watch No. 12967, maker, Coates & Co., Christchurch, reported as stolen from Spring’s Hotel, Southbndge, Canterbury, lias been recovered by the Canterbury Police. William Adams charged on warrant with uttering a valueless cheque to Archibald Blue, at Clyde, has been arrested by Constable Scott, Palmerston police, and sentenced to three months labor. (Vide Police Gazette 1875, page'ld) Mary Jane Gibbs charged on warrant with disobeying a summons to answer a charge of having prevoked a breach of the peace, has been arrested by ♦Sergeant O'Neill, Dunedin police.
