The sum of £3 has been awarded to Sergeant James Joseph Tuohy, Riverton Police, in acknowledgement of zeal and activity shewn in effecting the arrest of James Lyons, sentenced to six months imprisonment with hard labour, for breaking into and stealing from a dwelling.

Vide Police Gazette, 1574, page 88. Ah Ton, alias Paior Hoo, charged on warrant with disobeying a summons for a breach of the Gold Pields Act has been arrested by Constable Jones, Macraes police, and fined £5 and costs.

Vide Police Gazette, 1874, page 89. G-eorge Humphrey, charged on suspicion with having stolen a pair of boots and a silk velvet waistcoat from the dwelling-house of John Conovan, at Dunedin, has been arrested by Constable Jones, Macraes police.

Vide Police Gazette , 1875, page 4. The gold watch and chain, reported as stolen from the Eagle Hotel, Campbelltown, the property of Alfred Oswin, have been recovered.

Vide Police Gazette, 1875, page 1. The warrant issued by the Dunedin Bench for the arrest of Andrew D. Crawford, charged with embezzlement, has been cancelled.

The watch reported as stolen on the 29th ultimo* at Tapanui, from the person of John McNamara has been recovered. The horses reported stolen from South Rakaia, the property of W. R. Keeley, have been found.

A man named John Miller has been arrested by Constable Alexander Henderson, Dunedin police, for this offence, and identified as the offender. Charles Coleman, alias Alfred Holloway, alias Holliday, alias Henry Waters, charged on warrant with obtaining goods by false pretences from Robert K. Murray, at Dunedin, on the 28th ultimo, has been arrested by the Oamaru police.
