Purdue, Invercargill Police in acknowledgement of special vigilance shewn in effecting the arrest of Ah Kee and Ah Sing sentenced to 9 months imprisonment each with hard labour, at the last sitting of District Court at Invercargill, for stealing from a shop, and for the recovery of the stolen property.

The sum of £5 has been awarded to Sergeant Cassells, Cromwell Police, for praiseworthy tact and vigilance exhibited in effecting the arrest of John Levy alias Goldburg sentenced at the last sittings of the Supreme Court at Dunedin, to IS months imprisonment with hard labour for stealing gold and money from a hotel, and for the recovery of the stolen property.

The sum of £3 has been awarded to Constable John Grant, Waikouiati Police, for special shrewdness exhibited in arresting (from description only) Samuel Gibson alias Wilson who was charged with obtaining a cheque by false pretences and with larceny as a bailee, and sentenced at the last sitting of the Supreme Court at Dunedin, to 21- years imprisonment with hard labour.
