An inquest was held on the 28th ultimo at the Hospital, Lawrence, by Edward Herbert, Esq, J.P., on the body of John Ingram, a miner, aged 49 years, who died there suddenly on the day previous. Verdict— Died from disease of the heart.

An inquest was held on the 22nd ultimo at the Victoria Hotel, Naseby, by William Grummict, Esq., J.P., on the body of Bridget Mongover, a servant, aged 25 years, who died at Naseby on the previous day from the effects of injuries sustained on the 20th ultimo by the capsizing of a dray on which she was sitting. Maitland, Esq., Coroner, on' the body of Tui I’u, a Maori, aged 80 years, who was burned to death on the sth instant at, the Taieri Beach by the hut in which he was living catching fire. An inquest was held on the 11th instant at the Bendigo Hotel, Blacks, by J. D. Nevin, Esq., J.P., on the body of a’ man known as ‘‘Tom,” who was found dead in his bed at the residence of William Faulkener, 'Ruggedy Ridge, on the morning of the 7th instant. Verdict—Died from disease of the heart.

Deceased, who was unknown in the district, was about 45 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, stout build, black hair, beard, whiskers, and moustache. He said he was an Englishman, and by trade a shoemaker.
