His Honor the Superintendent desires it to be notified, that he has appointed Thomas Cooper, a member of the Police Force of the Province of Otago, 5 to be Gaoler of the Public Gaol situate at Hamilton’s,'.West'. Goldfield. Thomas Dick, Provincial Secretary.

Has been running during last winter near Mr. Murison’s out-hut,, on the Upper Taieri Plain. Was last seen, near theKyeburnn month since. Dark Bay Horse, five years old. black points, white mark under the left nostril,'’brand L on near shoulder. Lias been running with 1 the mob in ' the ■ lower part of Shag Valley, where he' is thought to have been last seen a month since. . '■
