“THE CATHOLIC PLATFORM ON SOCIAL ACTION.”
TO THfl EDITOR. Sir, —It was with feelings of great pleasure that I read in the New Zealand Tablet the article on "The Catholic Platform on Social Action" by his Grace Archbishop Redwood. It reflects credit on the Catholic Church in New Zealand that such a clear exposition of the needs of the times should emanate from the incisive brain of a great cleric. To my mind this one article on Social Action, would be sufficient to establish Archbishop Redwood as a remarkable man. His views on this, the greatest of modern problems, should be widely circulated. At least every Catholic literary and debating club in Australia and New Zealand should be.conversant with them. In a low clear and terse sentences the hollowness and hypocrisy of modern civilisation and its vaunted political freedom are exposed. -His Grace is a true reformer, and deserves well not only of his own people but of all thinkers in all lands.—l am, etc., J.
