Brothers are issuing a new series of Reading Books which will aim at cultivating the child’s golden gift of imagination by making it acquainted with some of the best stories of the world’s imaginative literature. The compilers avail themselves largely of Catholic legends and the lives of the heroes of God, knowing that nothing is better calculated to maintain a Catholic atmosphere. The present volume is the first book of the series, and it is in every way all that the aims of the compilers foreshadowed. Particularly notable are the illustrations in color, usually reproductions of masterpieces.
