SCHOOL FOOTBALL AT WINTON.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—ln a recent issue of the Tablet we notice that you have credited our school with a most praiseworthy football performance against four visiting boys. Still when we remember what experts at the game these four toys are, we humbly decline the honor that your paper is trying to thrust upon us v Your "esteemed correspondent," whoever ho is,'would be much better "esteemed"'if we could only lay our hands upon him. Let us. briefly state the facts of the case. When these, four visiting boys refused to play three of our sixth standard /boys, we arranged with them to try their powers against six" of our junior school, I he result was only what was to- be expected from such kind-hearted and sporting" hosts as are to be found in this little .Ireland of the South— allowed them to play a drawn game. We might mention in passing that we are saying nothing at all about the referee plaving for them—kicking all the goals and scoring all their tries. Trusting that next year the whole Christian Brothers' team will pay us a "playing" visit, and trusting especially that your esteemed correspondent" will. soon be in our midst. s Wo arc, On behalf of the Winton Catholic School, . Gerald Forde. Matt Cosgrove.
