CORONATION CEREMONY AT REMUERA.

.the coronation of the children’s queen took place at Remuera, on Saturday, October 30, and was a magnificent success (writes our Auckland correspondent). The little ones had a memorable- time; a bright, sunny afternoon added to their enjoyment, and attracted crowds of friends to the spacious Convent school-grounds, where the throne was erected. To the strains of the “Coronation March,” the procession wended its way from the school to -"the throne. Little maids in sage-green, purple, and cardinal, and carrying boskets of flowers, led the way, and lined up to allow the “ladies in waiting” and queen with her escort to pass through to their allotted positions. Miss Una Townsendthe queen elect—was robed in white silk, covered with beautiful worked silk net, and wore a girdle of pale pink rosebuds. The court-train was of red lined with gold, and was carried by Masters Jack Sweeney and Y alter Zainey. The queen carried a bouquet of beautiful roses and maiden-hair fern, and wore a gold chain and inscribed medals, the gifts of Rev. Father Doyle to the successful candidate. She was attended by Misses Annie 0 Connell, Kathleen Melican, Joyce Howard, Mollie Sorenson, Ilona Y right, and Rita Booth, as maids-of-honor,

all of whom were tastefully gowned. Miss Rene Moore second in order for the election —wore a robe of white silk, beautiful veil and plumes, and carried a lovely bouquet. Her maids were; Misses Kathleen O’Leary and Marjorie Patton, while her train-bearers were Peggy Cruickshank and Pauleen, who also wore dainty frocks. Miss Jean Bellthird candidatewas robed in white satin, pretty veil and plumes, and carried a choice bouquet. Her maids were: Misses Kathleen Gilbert, and Mavis Kerr, who looked very pretty in satin dresses and plumes. The train-bearers were Bubbles Jenkin and Sheila Barrett. The pages carrying the crown, sceptre, and proclamations, wore Masters Bertie Barry, Mail rice Williams, and Sydney Harris. All having arrived at the vicinity of throne, the ‘‘Lord • Chancellor” (Owen Cardston) read and presented the address from the loyal subjects. Then followed the “crowning ceremony,” which was performed by his Lordship Dr. Cleary, who seemed to thoroughly enjoy conferring the honor. The most graceful part of the proceedings was the presentation of the “ladies-in-waiting.” During the progress of the coronation musical selections rendered by Messrs Hill, Churchouse, and Baldwin, were greatly appreciated. Mr. Owen Cardston, the director of the the pageant, was warmly, applauded by the spectators and has received numerous requests to repeat the ceremony in the Town Hall, on the opening night of the bazaar.
