THE LATE MRS. HENNELLY AUCKLAND.

Mrs. Mary Hennelly, who died recently in Auckland (writes a correspondent), was on old resident of that city, her father (the late Mr. Peter Grace) being one of Auckland’s earliest residents and a prominent Catholic in the early days of St. Patrick’s Cathedral. The deceased lady took an active interest in all church work, being president of the Women’s Sacred Heart Society in the parish of the Sacred Heart, Ponsonby. She was a member of the parish committee of the Catholic Federation, in the work of which she was keenly interested, and was also one of the committee of the Catholic Women’s Hostel. _ The late Mrs. Hennelly, who was a woman of wide intelligence, took an active part in all matters concerning women, and was for many years connected with various women’s societies, being for some time president of the Auckland Women's Political League. Her husband' (the late Mr. John Hennelly, of Thames) predeceased her many years ago. The deceased lady was 66 years of age, and is survived by a son and a daughter (Mr. E. M. and Miss M. Hennelly, of Ponsonby), who have the sympathy of a large circle of friends in their loss.R.I.P.
