Messrs. Stronach, Morris, and Co., Ltd., report for week ended Tuesday, January 30, 1917, as follows: Rabbitskins.-We held a sale on Monday, 29th inst., when we submitted a small catalogue to a fair attendance of buyers. The following are some of the prices obtained .-—Prime winter does, to 63d; second winter does, to 54d; . first winter bucks, to 42d; outgoing, to 25|d ; autumns, to 26d; racks, to 15d; fawns, to 25d; first winter blacks, to 58£-d; second winter blacks, to 28d. Horsehair, 14d to 18d per lb. Catskins, from Id to 4Jd each. Ferret skins, Is to 3/3 each. , Sheepskins.—Pending word from the Government re valuations, all sheepskins are held in store meanwhile. Hides.—We held a sale on Friday, the 26th inst., when we submitted a small catalogue to the usual attendance of buyers. Quotations : Stout heavy ox, to 13^d ; medium, to 12] d; medium and heavy cow hides, to Hj|d; yearlings, to 9id; best calfskins to 13d; medium, 9d to lid; damaged and inferior, 5d to 9d. Oats.— The market remains, quiet, and very little business is passing, with prices on a par with last report. Wheat.—The market for milling wheat is very unsettled pending the decision of the Government in regard to fixing prices, and millers are only buying from hand to mouth. Fowl wheat is scarce and can be readily sold at from 5s 8d to 5s 9d for best whole, and 5s 3d to 5s 6d for medium quality, per bushel (sacks extra). Chaff.—Consignments have been coming to hand very freely of late with the result that supplies exceed the demand, and late rates are not obtainable. Prime oaten sheaf, £4 10s to .£4 12s 6d; medium, <£4 to £4 7s 6d per ton (sacks extra).
