ST. JOSEPH'S SCHOOL, KERRYTOWN

' Good wine needs no bush,' and this old-time remark can well be applied to the Sisters of St. Joseph's School, Kerrytown, whose capabilities of imparting knowledge to the children entrusted to their care is only too well and favorably known to need further comment. It was only to be expected that there was a large gathering of parents and friends of the children attending this institution on the occasion of their annual entertainment, which was given on a recent evening, among the visitors being a fair contingent from Temuka. An elaborate programme of a varied description had been carefully arranged by the Sisters in charge of the school, and the various items by the children were given with that degree of perfection that redounded with credit to all concerned. The pupils were appropriately dressed for the pieces in which they were to take part, and special mention must be made of the production of the drama, ' Daisy Bell,' which was well staged, and the children grouped round King Oberon (Master Denis Hoare) and Queen Titania (Miss Phyllis Sugrue) looked very nice indeed.
