The contracting parties were Miss Margaret Mary Murphy, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs." J. Murphy, of Te Whitiatara, Norsewood, and Mr. Martin James Walsh, youngest son of Mr. J. Walsh, of New South Wales. The bride, who was given away ' by her father, looked charming in a dress of white silk, and wore the usual veil and orange blossoms. She - was attended by her sister (Miss Agnes Murphy), who was attired in a dress of grey cashmere, and wore a white hat. The second bridesmaid was Miss M. Todd (aunt of the bride); who wore a cream dress and white hat. Mr. T. Carr, of Matamau, was best man, and Mr. C. Murphy (brother of the bride) was groomsman. After the ceremony a large number of relatives and friends were entertained at the wedding breakfast at the residence of the bride’s parents, when the usual .toasts were honored. Subsequently, the happy left by the afternoon train for Auckland and thence to Australia, where the honeymoon is to be spent. The bridegroom’s present to the bride was a handsome greenstone pendant, and to the bridesmaids gold ' brooches. f The bride’s present to the bridegroom was a writing-desk. The bride’s travelling dress was a navy blue tailor-made costume, grey felt hat, and a set of black furs. Mr. and Mrs. Walsh, who are well known and highly respected in this district, were the recipients of many* handsome and valuable presents, including cheques.
