Timaru

(From our own correspondent.)

March 2.

When the Invercargill Hibernian Band passed through Timaru on their return from the north, they remained here a day, and were welcomed at the station by his Worship the Mayor (Mr. Angland). The band played through the town, and gave an open-air concert on the Bay during the evening. Mr. P. Mahoney, the energetic secretary of the local branch of the H.A.C.B. Society, also looked after the visitors and made them quite at home. The conductor and some of the bandsmen were hospitably entertained on the morning of their departure by the Very Rev. Dean Tubman, who, accompanied by Mr. P. Mahoney, showed them over the new church.
