In giving the occasional address at the prize-giving in connection with the Girls’ High School (a branch of Canterbury College), prior to the Christmas holidays, his Lordship Bishop Grimes congratulated those who were successful, and told those who were not successful not to lose heart but take courage and try again next year. The wives and the daughters also-of these great men deserved as much recognition. . In many of their homes there were those who deserved the name of heroine. He was glad to hear that night so much about the cookery classes that were conducted by the school. He felt sure that many of them had learnt the art of cooking, but whether it be the using of the needle or the cooking of various dishes, - they would derive much satisfaction from their accomplishments. - •
