Waihi
(From our own correspondent.)
March 8. Ihe Catholic Men’s Club has commenced its weekly meetings for this year, the first two meeting nights being exceptionally wet. Only some dozen members attended on the opening night, when an interesting programme of impromptu speeches was gone through. Last night the Yen. Archdeacon Brodie gave an address on Was the Clergy of Spain Responsible for the Execution of Ferrer?’ There was a large attendance, and several who had hitherto accepted the statements contained in McCabe’s book as the- truth, had their eyes opened, and left with a different impression. Everything promises well for a most successful year for tho club. '
