(From our own correspondent.) The members of St. Vincent de Paul Society held their •genoral meeting after the evening devotions to-night, when they reviewed their work for the past year. . The retreat of the Children of Mary, conducted by the Rev .Father Creagh, C.SS.R., terminated on Sunday night, when thirteen aspirants were received into the confraternity. On Sunday last fifty children made their First Communion at the 9 o'clock Mass. After the 4,1 o'clock Mass there was Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament until Vespers, when the usual procession was held, in which all the Sodalites took part, including the First Communicants. The pupils of the Convent High School broke up for the Christmas vacation on Monday, and in the evening a concert and distribution of prizes took place in the Empire Hall. The following programme, the items of which were excellently rendered, was given:—Piano duo, 'Brahms' dances,' Misses V. Graham, Kendall, Rainbow, and Stansell; choruses, The morn is breaking,' Slumber sea,' senior pupils; wand drill, junior pupils; piano solo, 'Romance,' Miss E. Grant; songs, junior pupils; violin solo, Raff's ' Cavatina,' Miss Dorothy Bagnall; Irish jig, Misses M. Murray, E. Grant, and Masters 0. Galpin and J. Devine; solo and chorus. Pari 11. Piano duo, ' Valse des Fleurs,' Misses Rainbow, M. Tucker, K. Carboy, A. Hurley; chorus, 'Christmas bells,' senior pupils; fan dance, Misses E. Grant, M. Murray, C. Lusted, T. Stockwell; piano solo, 'The butterfly,' Miss Ida Oldridge; choruses, 'Hush, my baby,' 'Plantation echo song,' junior pupils; club drill, senior pupils; song (action), preparatory pupils; chorus, " Angelus,' senior pupils; trio, 'Three green bonnets,' Misses Kilcolly, S. Haben, M. Murray; piano solo, Miss Alice Rainbow; chorus, 'God defend New Zealand.' The accompanists were Misses J. Graham and M. Rainbow.
