WELLINGTON CATHOLIC CLUB NOTES

(From the Club correspondent.) Playing against Templars the Catholic, Cricket Club made 107 (Reade 29, Toms 24, . and Leydon 24). Templars compiled 89 (Lambert 27, Blenkinsop 23). For the club O’Dowd (six wickets for 35) was the best bowler, Patterson (three for 8) and Blenkinsop (four for 26) being the most successful for Templars. The club lias now played four matches, winning three and losing one. A concert and dramatic performance were given under the auspices of the club in St. Peter’s Hall last evening, there being a large attendance. As a result of the performance the cricket club funds will benefit considerably. The following contributed to the first part of the programme: Messrs, Reade, Gardiner, Hopper, Hartridge, Eohlin, Howard, Twohill, Hobman, and Miss Clapshaw. The second part of the programme was an amusing farce entitled ‘ My Turn Next,’ the various parts being taken by Messrs. F. Eller, F. Leydon, R. Duffy, C.
