Invercargill

(From Our Own Correspondent.) The annual Communion of the Catholic Club took place on Sunday, 27th inst., when there was a very large attendance of members. After the 8 o'clock Mass the members adjourned to St. Joseph's schoolroom, where breakfast awaited them. The president (Mr. James Collins) occupied the chair. The toasts of ' The Catholic Club,' ' Tho Clergy,' ' Kindred Societies,' and ' The Ladies ' were proposed and duly honored. The Athletic Football Club is ' keeping up its reputation, haying won all its matches so far. Only six points have been recorded against the wearers of the green jersey, and the premiership is now a foregone conclusion. The Marist Brothers' boys are leading in the schools' competition, and on Saturday last they defeated the Park School by no fewer than 55 points to nil.
