Addington Stock Market.

The entries at Addington comprised 1200 fat sheep, 4300 fat lamb 9, 3083 store sheep, 337 cattle, and 390 pigs. Fat Cattle— l6o head yarded, nearly all being cows and heifers. Only a few steers came to hand. Best beef held its own, but inferior sorts were dull of sale. Good to prime beef realised from 22* to 24s 6d ; other sotta. 18s to 21s ; steers sold at from L 7 5a to L 0 13a ; best heifers, L 7 10s to L 9 ; best cows, hi to L 8 15s ; others, L 4 15s to L 6 10s. There were very few stores or dairy cattle, and a dull sale resulted. Fat Sheep — These were mostly wethers, including some good lines, but also many unfinished sorts. Freezers pold well at from 18s to 21s 6d ; lighter, down to 17s ; best ewes, 17s to 20a ; others, 13s 6d to l."> 8 ; merino wethers. 13s Id to 14s 3d. Fat Lambs— Some very good lines were to hand as well as a few extra good pens. There was a keen demand, and over 3000 were taken for freezing. Best freezers brought from 16s to 17s 9d ; others, 14s 9d to 15s 6d ; and unfinished sold sold down to 1 3s 6d. Store Sh>-ep— These comprised some large lines of wethera and ewes, and there was a good demand for all classes. A thousand wethers brought 16i 2J ; smaller lines, 15s Id to 15s 4d ; mixed wethers and ewes, 15s 5d ; ewes, 13s Id to 16s Id, according to age and condition ; ewes and lambs (all counted), 12a Id to 13s 4d • and lambs, 13s 4d. Pios— There was a good supply of fats, and a fair sale took place. Baconers realised from 32-t to 4!)s, or an average of 3Jd per lb ; porkers, 21s to 325, equal to 3Jd to 4d per lb. The stores were very rough sorts, and created little or no demand. Suckers and weaners brought from 4s to 9s ; and others, 9a to 16s.
