MR. G. H. SCHACHT'S SOIREE.

The concert given in the Oity Hall, Dunedin, the other evening by the pupils of Mr G. H. Schacht, was a very creditable one, and spoke highly in testimony to the teaching bestowed on them. The junior performers showed a very remarkable degree of proficiency, and the playing of the seniors would have won admiration even under much more pretentious circumstances. The pianoforte duet also with which the performance opened was extremely good, and the young lady and^ the gentleman who sang did their respective parts in a thoroughly enjoyable manner.
