Auckland. — ultimo, for theft of the money, &c., described below, value £235 os. 5d., the property of the Supply Laundry and Tri-cleaners, Ltd., 67 Victoria Street, Man (name unknown), short strong build, dark hair, round 'features ; wearing a navy-blue suit coat, grey trousers (no hat). At about 11.25 a.m. on above date two of complainant firm’s employees, Zoe Nancy Fowler and John Sunde, collected wages for the staff from the National Bank of New Zealand, Shortland Street. An attache-case containing the money was placed on the driver’s seat of the firm’s van which was parked in Shortland Street, and while Sunde was attempting to close the van door preparatory to driving away, he was pushed by tho man described who leaned over the front seat from the back of the van, snatched the attache-case, and then ran away. Description: Fifteen £5, one hundred and twenty-six £l, and thirty-nine 10s. notes, and £l3 10s. sd. in silver and coppers in six canvas bags, 6 in. by 4 in., each with Office on it; and an old brown fibrolite attachecase, about 12 in. long. Richards,” which he tendered as a deposit on a suit (for which he was measured) and received £5 change. On 7th instant he also obtained £1 ss. in money from George Ralph Paulsen.. radio-dealer, The Square, by means of a valueless cheque for £l2, No. 011790, which he tendered when ordering a radio.
