CHRISTMAS MESSAGE
To the Members of the New Zealand Police Force In association with the Prime Minister, I wish* you and your wives and families a happy and enjoyable Christmas and a bright and prosperous New Year. We desire to compliment you on the loyal and competent manner in which you have carried out your duties during the year, and we feel sure that under the leadership of your new Commissioner, Mr. J. Cummings, you will render the maximum of service in the same spirit of loyalty, efficiency, and goodwill as in the past. We sincerely hope that 1945 will bring victory to the cause of the Allied Nations and the establishment of an abiding peace. P. C. Webb, Minister in Charge of Police Department.
