Auckland. —sth ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for three days in default of paying £2 10s. fine and costs for having an unlicensed wireless set, Irene Peterson, age thirty-seven, height 5 ft. 2 in., domestic, native of New Zealand, slight build, fair hair, blue eyes.

Auckland. 6th November last, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for two months in default of paying £37 16s. 6d. arrears on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Thelma Ivy Curry, Kaituna Private Hotel, Te Puke, Charles William Curry, age twenty-six, height about 5 ft. 7 in., lorry-driver, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion, brown hair, small brown eyes, small moustache ; frequents hotels and billiard-saloons. He may bo released on payment of £25. He may be identical with a man of the same name referred to in Police Gazette, 1931, PaSe394 ' ajr/irt.

Auckland.— l7th ultimo, on warrant to apprehend for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Lily Jeffries, 42 Cobden Street, Newton, Victor Onslow Jeffries, age forty-seven, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, slight build, fresh complexion, grey hair, blue eyes; usually dressed in dark trousers, navy-blue coat, and brown shoes; walks with a limp. He was called up for service with the Territorial Force in November last, but a registered letter addressed to him could not be delivered owing to his having changed his address. /a ,/&/

Auckland. instant, that lie may be located and interviewed as a witness in regard to theft by Dorothy Baker who is referred to in Police Gazette, 1937, page 648, Edward Yates, age sixty-eight, height about 5 ft. 7 in., retired seaman, native of England, grey hair; stooped; suffering from cancer. When located a communication is to be sent to the Superintendent of Police, Auckland, who will forward the file.

Auckland. —lst October last, on warrant to apprehend for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, John William Pye, age forty,, height 5 ft. 6 in., carpenter, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, curly dark hair, grey eyes, scar on. base of left thumb and on lower lip. Wanganui. —26th November last, on warrant to apprehend for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife and child, Dickson Fisher Phillipson, age forty-four, height 5 ft. 6 in., hairdresser, native of New Zealand, stout build, dark complexion, black hair, blue eyes, plausible manner. Pahiatua.— 2oth ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for three days in default of paying £1 2s. balance of fine and costs for being in possession of liquor in the vicinity of a dance-hall, Thomas Benedict Columb, referred to in Police Gazette, 1940, page 144.

Lower —lßth ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for fifteen days in default of paying £ls 12s. 6d. arrears on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Linda Mary Lane, Rex Peter Lane, age twentyfour, height 5 ft. 11 in., furrier, native of New Zealand, slight build, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair, hazel eyes, straight nose; dressed in a dark suit (no hat.)

Wellington. —22nd November last, on three warrants of commitment to Wellington Prison for three months, three months, and one month in default of paying £3O 15s. arrears on maintenance orders for the support of his wife, Susan Morrison Canning Horning, and three children, William Stanford Freeman Horning, age thirty-three, height 5 ft. ll£in., chef, native of New Zealand, slight build, olive complexion, dark hair turning grey, brown eyes, butterfly, Union Jack, and pierced heart on right forearm ; he has a habit of putting his hand to his face and rubbing his teeth with his fingers. Wellington. —27th November last, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for two months in default of paying £34 15s. arrears on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Grace Virginia Prentice, Raymond John Prentice, referred to in Police Gazette, 1940, page 777. Kaikoura— loth ultimo, on warrant for obtaining credit by fraud, Evans, age about thirty-seven, height 5 ft. 10 in., slight build, dark complexion and hair, blue eyes; dressed in a dark suit and grey felt hat, and wears dark horn-rimmed spectacles; good carriage. Accused, who stayed at the Adel phi Hotel from the 10th to the 12th ultimo, incurred a debt of £1 12s. for board by fraudulently representing to the licensee, Thomas Cloudsley, that he was a traveller for Van Stavern, Wellington.
