APPREHENSIONS, PERSONS FOUND, ETC.

Kaitaia. Henry White, motor-car unlawfully converted: Robert Clarence Clarke, referred to in Police Gazette, 1939, page 329, has been interviewed by the Wellington police, and he admitted the offence. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 283.)

Kaeo. — Eru Kingi, default of maintenance, has been arrested by the Taupo police. (See Police Gazette, 1938, page 519.)

Queen Street Wharf (Auckland). —Gurfard Poschmann, deserting ship, has been arrested by the Wellington South police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 317.)

Auckland. — Emil Blaauw, referred to in Police Gazette, 1929, page 136, and Photographs, 1928, page 37, died at Auckland on the 20th ultimo.

Auckland. — Hugh Eric Frew, failing to maintain, has been arrested by the Blenheim police. He is identical with a man of the same name referred to in Police Gazette, 1932, page 608. (See Police Gazette, 1937, page 719.)

Auckland. — Henry Francis Rae, default of maintenance Warrant cancelled. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 49.)

Auckland. — Ronald James Rackley, alias Ronald Matthew Rackley, alias Don Campbell, suspected of theft, has been arrested by the Waipu police and convicted of the offence. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 134.)

Auckland. Robert Moisey Hooker, alias Maurice Hooper, default of fines and costs, has paid the amount to the Palmerston North police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, pages 231 and 267.)

Auckland.—David James Cromie, default of fine and costs, has paid the amount to the Wharf (Wellington) police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 317.)

Auckland. William James Newman, breach of probation, has been arrested by the Otorohanga police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 336.)

Auckland. — William Arthur Murton and Edwin Charles Murton, convicted (see Police Gazette, 1938, page 724): The sentence imposed on each has been reduced by the Court of Appeal to two years’ reformative detention.

Auckland. — Raymond Leslie Boreham, failing to maintain, and default of fine and costs: The warrants have been executed by the Auckland police. (See Police Gazette, 1938, page 843.)

Auckland. — Maitland John Sinclair, failing to maintain, has been arrested by the Auckland police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 283.)

Auckland. Len Joseph Gates, default of fine and costs, &c., has paid the amounts to the Hamilton police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 317.)

Huntly. — Edward Henry Greenfield, alias Edward Henry Ulett Greenfield, unlawfully converting motor-car, has been arrested by the Christchurch police. He is identical with John Henry Richards, referred to in Police Gazette, 1939, page 313. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 165.)

Hamilton. Edward Henry Greenfield, alias Edward Henry Ulett Greenfield, unlawfully converting motor-car, has been arrested by the Christchurch police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 284.)

Cambridge. Edward Collinson, alias Edward Bonner Collins, alias Thomas James Hunter, aiding the sale of liquor during prohibited hours, has been arrested by the Timaru police. (See Police Gazette, 1938, page 735.)

Rotorua. — John Thomas William Whalley, alias William Sturrock, breach of probation, has been arrested by the Blenheim police. He assumed the name W. Lunne. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 254.)

Manunui. — Joe Tainui, theft : Joe Tainui, alias Bishaw, alias Besa, has been interviewed by the Palmerston North police, and he admitted the offence. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 254.)

New Plymouth.lan Carr Douglas, false pretences, has been arrested by the Ngaruawahia police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 318.)

Napier. Colin Herbert Hercock, convicted (see Police Gazette, 1938, page 820) : The sentence has been reduced by the Court of Appeal to seven years’ hard labour. (Gazette, 39/1/300.)

Hastings. — George Edward Hicks Searl, default of maintenance: Warrant cancelled. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 232.)

Palmerston North.— Leslie Charles Moore Harwood, failing to maintain, has been arrested by the Matamata police. (See Police Gazette, 1936, page 678.)

Palmerston North. — Vivian Johnson, default of maintenance : Warrant cancelled. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 51.)

Palmerston North. — Nelson John Bovey, alias Shaw, alias Shore, false pretences, has been interviewed by the Auckland police and denies having committed this offence. (See Police Gazette, 1938, page 689.)

Featherston. John Henry Cornish, default of balance of fine and costs, has paid the amount to the Wharf (Wellington) police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 165.)

Wellington.— Frederick Bates, default of maintenance, has been arrested by the Mount Cook police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 165.)

Wellington. — James Graham Shivas, deserting Navy, has been located by the Hokitika police, and no further action is to be taken. (See Police Gazette, 1938, pages 575 and 591.)

Wellington. — Frank Albert Choldcroft, convicted (see Police Gazette, 1939, page 82): The sentence has been varied by the Court of Appeal to two years in a Borstal Institution. (Wn. 3022/39.)

Wellington. — Maxwell Keith Garner, bigamy, has been arrested by the Westport police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 336.)

Wharf (Wellington). — Edward Charles Madden, deserting ship, has been arrested by the Westport police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 318.)

Nelson. — Maxwell Keith Garner, failing to maintain, has been arrested by the Westport police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 118.)

Hokitika. — Kerr Hardy Robertson, inquired for, has been interviewed by the Whangarei police. His correct name is Keir Hardy Robertson. (See Police Gazette, 1938, page 759.)

Christchurch. Thomas James Hunter, alias Frederick Collins, suspected of theft, has been arrested by the Timaru police and convicted of the offence. (See Police Gazette, 1938, page 691.)

Christchurch. — Hugh Pirie Greig, alias D. McFarlane, inquired for, has been interviewed by the Port Chalmers police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 150.)
