Unidentified Bodies Found. Featherston. —On the 24th ultimo, the dead body of a man was found in a stream near Cross Creek. It was that of a man of medium build, round face, bald with some grey hair, artificial upper teeth, three or four lower front teeth missing, the remainder being natural teeth; dressed in a navy-blue suit, white and blue striped shirt with collar attached, two cotton singlets, woollen underpants, black woollen socks, black' lace-up boots which had been halfsoled, and had round rubber heels, dark tie, and 15 ct. gold sleeve-links. The body was in an advanced stage of decomposition, death having occurred at least two months previously to the discovery of the remains. If any information is obtained that would assist in establishing the identity of deceased it is to be communicated to the Superintendent of Police, Wellington.

Taranaki Street (Wellington). —At 5.25 a.m. on the 24th ultimo, the dead body of a man (photograph above) was found in the harbour at Oriental Bay. A post-mortem examination revealed that death was due to drowning and that there were no marks of violence on the body which had not been long in the water. It appeared to be that of a man about fifty years of age, height 5 ft. 11 in., good build, fresh complexion, dark hair going bald, blue eyes, no teeth,

scars on left cheek and on right knee and ankle. A pair of white interlock short underpants were on the body, and the following clothing was on the steps close to where it was found : A navy-blue three-piece suit, well-worn and branded “ The Wyndham Superior Grade made exclusively by the Union Clothing Company, Ltd., corner of Cuba and Ghuznee Streets, Wellington ” ; a blue nap overcoat ; a grey small Borsalino felt hat, branded “ Harry Faram, Mercery Emporium, Gisborne”; a Wellesley shirt, size 4, light-brown with brown and black stripes ; a Cellastic sports singlet ; a brown check tie ; a brown, blue, and grey woollen scarf; a pair of slate-grey socks ; a white linen collar, size 16 ; a pair of black leather shoes with worn rubber soles, size 8 ; a brown suede glove; a nickel-plated pocket torch ; a sweat-rag ; a white handkerchief ; a comb ; a Firestone pocket-knife ; a brown hogskin purse containing a penny ; a pair of pince-nez with gold-coloured rims ; a pair of red and brown braces ; a bottle of aspirins ; and a packet of safety-razor blades. Any information that would assist in establishing the identity of deceased is to be communicated to the Superintendent of Police, Wellington.
