PROPERTY STOLEN.

Auckland. On or about the 21st December last, the property of the STERLING PIANO AND RADIO CO., a fourvalve mantel radio, model D.C. Temple, in medium brown square polished walnut case, chassis No. 34014, manufacturing No. 18818, may be named “ Sterling,” full vision dial 0 to 100, 8 in. speaker with grid, fretwork design in front of speaker with brown doth background; value, £ls 15s. Identifiable. Charles James O’Leary (referred to in Photographs, 1922, page 61), who had the radio installed in his dwelling at 17 Pitt Street, states that he left the radio in the house when he vacated it.

Auckland. —15th December last, the property of the STERLING PIANO AND RADIO CO., a five-valve Audiola radio-set, mantel model, No. 1588 stamped on chassis; value, £l2. Identifiable. On the 15th December last a man, who gave his name as Robert Leach, and his address as Golf Road, New Lynn, obtained the radio under a hire-purchase agreement. He has failed to pay the instalments due, and inquiries have elicited that the address given was fictitious.

Auckland. About the 9th March last, from 37 St. Luke’s Road, Mount Albert, the property of MOLLY SMITH, a ladies’ 18 ct. gold engagement ring, set with fifteen diamonds, Marquise type ; value, £ls. Identifiable.

Auckland. — the sth and 9th March last, from 26 Sandringham Road, the property of JANET WINIFRED ELLIOT, a gold dress ring, set with a sapphire surrounded by eight small diamonds in platinum setting, split shank; and a gold half-hoop ring, set with ruby in centre with three small diamonds on one side and two small diamonds on the other side in rubbed-over setting: total value, £l7 10s. Identifiable.

Auckland.— Between the 20th and 28th March last, from the dwelling of NORMAN IRWIN, 14 Maxwell Avenue, a ladies’ 18 ct. gold ring, set with a diamond-shape cluster of nine small diamonds in platinum, band broken near cluster; value, £l4 14s. Identifiable.

Napier. 2nd February last, from 48 Thackeray Street, the property of VIOLET JANE, a ladies’ 18 ct. gold engagement ring, set with three diamonds in straight claw setting; a ladies’ 18 ct. gold dress ring, set with three sapphires surrounded by small diamonds, one sapphire and one diamond missing ; and an 18 ct. gold tie-pin in form of a shield, with « G.E.W.J.” engraved on it: total value, £l9. Identifiable.

Napier. 22nd January last, from the Napier Timber Co.’s yard, the property of JAMES HENRY ABBOTT, 7 Thackeray Street, a gentlemen’s heavy silver Rotherhams watch, No. 119288, with “ J.H.A.” engraved on inside of case; and a heavy silver watch-chain : total value, £2O. Identifiable.

Wanganui. —Between the 17th and 18th February last, from a garage at 21 Burton Avenue, the property of W. W. L. BROWN, Waitotara, a Willard heavy duty battery, No. R.H. 2.15 and 3/3/34 or 7/3/34 on it; value, £5. Identifiable.

Nelson. — l3th ultimo, from a motor-car in New Street, the property of ARTHUR OWEN JOHNSON, 18 Tasman Street, a New Exide 6-volt battery, stamped “ F. 34,11/3/35 ”; value, £3. Identifiable. '

Ashburton.— 1926, the property of WILLIAM GEORGE BURNEY, a single-shot -22 calibre Vickers rifle, No. V. 1475-2. In January, 1926, the rifle was left in a hut which he had occupied. The person in whose possession the rifle now is should be interviewed as to how he obtained it.

Christchurch.— 27th February last, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Defence Department), a -455 calibre six-chambered Webley revolver, No. 699 ; a cleaning-rod; and a brown leather holster: total value, £4 17s. lOd. Dunedin. Between the 9th and 11th February last, from a room in the Commercial, Hotel, the property of DENIS JOHN THOMAS SHARP, a blue serge coat and vest, branded “ D.1.C.,” fit a youth about sixteen; value, £2 ss. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to L. S. Thompson (name probably fictitious), age about twenty-four, height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, round face; wearing grey flannel trousers, blue serge coat and vest, black shoes. Suspect occupied a room in the hotel, and after he left the property was missing. A blue coat and vest of the same size as those stolen were left behind in the room, apparently by the offender.

Dunedin. the 22nd March last, the dwelling of FLORENCE ANN BARNES and another, 255 Highgate, was broken into and the following stolen: A ladies’ 9 ct. gold hunting keyless watch, white dial, Roman figures, front and back case chased; a ladies’ 9 ct. gold fine chain : a half-sovereign; a pair of black binoculars, 8 mm. magnification, right eyepiece adjustable at eye socket, “ Faria Freres, French make” stamped on them, with thin black leather strap attached ; and a post office metal savings-bank, containing £5 in threepenny pieces : total value, £l4. Identifiable except money.

Gore. —Between the 20th and 21st March last, the premises of J. D. CAMPBELL, cycle agent, Main Street, were broken into and the following stolen: A small black enamel drysole battery bicycle lamp; and a cash-box, size 12 in. by 8 in. by 5 in., containing a Bank of New Zealand pass-book in name of J. D. Campbell; and private and business papers : total value, £1 16s. 6d. Identifiable.
