Auckland. —Between the 20th and 30th ultimo, from the Imperial Hotel, the property of EDGAR WILLIAM JENNINGS, land agent, a pair of black binoculars, Ross, maker, in a tan-leather case, with “E.W.J.” on lid ; two white singlets with short sleeves ; and a pair of short underpants ; an oak case, containing a white-handled razor, Mappin and Webb, makers: total value, £lO 9s. Otahuhu. —On or about the 25th ultimo, from a paddock at Papatoetoe, the property of WILLIAM MOTION, farmer, ninety-one sheep, consisting of eighty-seven wethers and four ewes, some marked with red ruddle on back of head and blue on backs ; total value, £lO9 4s. Identifiable.

Waikari. —Between 10.30 a.m and 11.30 a.m. on the 3rd instant the dwelling of AUGUSTAVE MUELLER, platelayer, was broken into, and the following articles stolen : A Winchester rifle, 22-bore ; a box containing twenty-two ball-cartridges; a long green purse, “New Zealand International Exhibition ” written thereon, containing 2s. ; a nickel watch, Paterson and Co. on dial; and a silver chain with medal attached, inscribed “ New Zealand International Exhibition ”: total value, £6. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Richard George Ryan, a Burnham absconder, age sixteen, height 5 ft. 6in., native of New Zealand, medium build, dark hair and complexion, brown eyes, scar on right thumb ; dressed in a grey suit and grey softfelt hat. Has the appearance of a half-caste Maori.

Ashburton. —Between the 29th ultimo and the Ist instant the dwelling of GORDON CRAIGHEAD, 139 Middle Road, was broken into, and the following articles stolen: A pair of grey single blankets, with dark-blue stripe across ends; a grey coat and vest, well worn ; a pair of dungaree trousers, hole near left pocket and right knee ; a blue overcoat; a brown-leather belt, with pouch attached and brass buckle ; a tin can ; and a small screw-driver : total value, £2 18s. 6d. Bain, a Burnham absconder, age seventeen, height 5 ft. 9 in., sturdy build, freckled complexion, light-brown hair, brown eyes, aquiline nose, scar on left arm. His clothing may be marked “ 141.”
