Hastings. 29th August last, from 505 Southampton Street West, the property of HAZEL MYRTLE MARDON, a ladies’ 18 ct. gold half-hoop engagement ring, set with three rubies and two diamonds;, a 9 ct. gold bangle, fancy flat design, with diamond-shaped cut on top, set with ruby in centre and small pearls around edge; and a 9 ct. gold pendant, line gold leaf and knife-edge design, set with five rubies and ruby drop in claw setting, two small gold leaves above ruby drop with a pearl set in each, with fine chain attached : total value, £ls. Between the 22nd and 24th ultimo, the Post Office, Appleby, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Post and Telegraph Department) was broken into and the following stolen: A registered letter, No. 198, addressed to “ Mr. August Liebeziet, 34 Richmond Street, Petone,” containing a 10s. note ; a registered letter, No. 417, from the Chief Post Office, Nelson, to “ Post Mistress, Appleby,” containing two hundred and forty-six penny stamps ; and 2s. in coppers : total value, £1 12s. 6d. Dunedin. — Between the 28th February and 29th June last, from 249 Cargill Road, the property of WILLIAM GEORGE GRIFFITHS, a silver hunting stop-watch, small dent on outside of case ; a 9 ct. gold curb watch-chain with bar in centre ; a gold oval medal, with “ W. G. Griffiths, from Farmers of Wingatui ” inscribed on it; a gold oval medal, with “To W. Griffiths for Winning Hunting Cup on Milo, 1916 ” inscribed on it; a Hudson enamelled guild medallion attached to leather strap; three King George sovereigns; and a gold-mounted greenstone tiki about 3 in. long : total value, £32.
