SPECIAL NOTICES.

Arson. Hamilton. — .3 o’clock on the morning of the 3rd July last, an unoccupied building at Arapuni was wilfully set on fire, resulting in damage to the structure amounting to about £1 10s. The building which was owned by the trustees of the estate of the late Thomas Spears, 13 The Strand, Takapuna, was insured for £790. Any information regarding the offence is to be communicated to the Inspector of Police, Hamilton.

Concealment of Birth. Invercargill. — 9 o’clock on the morning of the 2nd instant, the dead body of a full-time female child with the umbilical cord still attached was found in the Waihopi River. The body was in a thin white bag, and had been in the water a short time only, probably less than twenty-four hours. A post-mortem examination revealed that the child had breathed, and that the skull was fractured, but medical opinion is that the fracture occurred at birth, and would cause death about one hour afterwards. Any information regarding the parentage of the child is to be communicated to the Inspector of Police, Invercargill.

Convictions to be Deleted. The convictions recorded against Philip Gordon Brazier, in Police Gazette, 1933, page 460, are to be deleted in all copies of the Police Gazette. A new trial on the charges referred to resulted in his acquittal. „ /o/Ac ~ dec W
