Causing Death by Negligent Driving. Auckland.— 7.15 p.m. on the 22nd ultimo, in Great South Road, Elizabeth Bott was killed as a result of being struck by a motor-car which failed to stop after the accident. Special inquiries are to be made to locate the driver of the motor-car. The description of the car is as follows: A coloured two-seater roadster Singer with black hood and large case in dickey seat.

£2OO Reward. Whereas on sth October, 1932, the house occupied by th e Inspector of Police at Greymouth was damaged by an ex* plosion, and there is reason to believe that the damage wa wilfully caused by some person or persons unknown. It is hereby notified that a reward of two hundred pounds (£200) will be paid for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons proved to have caused the said damage. The sentence of four years’ imprisonment imposed upon William Hautapa Wereta (vide Police Gazette, 1932, page 604), has been reduced by the Court of Appeal to three years ; and that imposed upon James Maxwell, alias Noble, alias Nixon (vide Police Gazette, 1930, page 427) has been varied to three years, the declaration to be an habitual criminal having been cancelled. All copies of the Police Gazette are to be amended accordingly.
