Auckland. —29th ultimo, for escaping from Mount Eden Prison, Frederick William Schiuter, alias Sluter, alias Wells, referred to in Police Gazette, 1932, page 153, and Photographs, page 34. Prior to his arrest he was living with Vera Grace Hall, referred to in Police Gazette, 1931, page 282. Accused is a clever criminal; he will convert motor-cars to his own use, and he is adept in obtaining goods by false pretences. He may disguise as a woman, and attempt to leave, this Dominion. / / HMSS V- /Uf/h

Auckland. 29th ultimo, for forgery, Man (name unknown), age about thirty-three, height 5 ft. 8 in., medium build; wearing steel-coloured rimmed spectacles, with thick brown lenses ; dressed in a light-coloured gabardine overcoat and felt hat ; smart appearance. Accused purchased a chequebook at the National Bank of New Zealand, Shortland Street, containing twenty-four cheques, Nos. G. 323017 to G. 323040, He gave the name B. Spitz. He later tendered one of the cheques, No. G. 323017 for £7O, payable to B. Silver, and forged the signature of Barnett Spitz, draper, 202 Eden Terrace. The cheque was not cashed. Accused may be an associate of Charles Grace, alias Gumm, referred to in Police Gazette, 1932, page 119, and Photographs, 1925, page 73. No warrant.

Auckland. 29th ultimo, that he may be interviewed regarding non-payment of expenses to the Health Department for treatment to his wife at St. Helens Hospital, George Baggott, age thirty, height 5 ft. 10 in.', barman, native of New Zealand, dark complexion, curly dark hair ; usually dressed in a brown suit; smart appearance; frequents danep-halls; fond of drink.

Newmarket. — 3rd instant, that he may be interviewed regarding non-payment of his unemployment levy, Percy - Edward Osborne, age about fifty, height 5 ft. 8 in., hotel porter and barman, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, dark hair turning grey ; wearing a darkgrey tweed suit and grey felt hat. m

Rotorua. 29th March last, on two warrants of commitment to Taupo Prison for twenty-four hours and three days in default of paying £3 4s. fines and costs for hawking without a license and failing to produce motor-driver’s license, Joseph Morris, age about thirty, height 5 ft. 6 in., hawker, native of New Zealand, slight build. He may be driving a motor-van, registration No. 47-727.

Gisborne. —15th March last, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for three months in default of paying £97 7s. 6d. arrears on a maintenance order for the support of his illegitimate child, John O’Brien, referred to in Police Gazette, 1930, page 730.

Palmerston North. 3rd instant, that a summons may be served upon him for casting offensive matter, Frederick Spencer, referred to in Police Gazette, 1930, page 863. He is also to be interviewed regarding the non-payment of his unemployment levy. /$ 3

Wellington. —22nd ultimo, for assault and robbery, Man (name unknown), age about thirty-five, height 5 ft. 6 in., thin build; dressed in a brown shabby suit and dirty Trilby hat. About 4.20 p.m., whilst Gladys Hibberd was returning to the Karitane Factory, Melrose, with the wages for the employees, she was assaulted by accused, who robbed her of the following property : A navy-blue fibre attache-case, about 12 in. by 10 in. by 5 in., brown lining, three small greasespots on inside ; a wages-book. with dark-brown cardboard cover ; a petty cash-book, with red cover, the leaves of which are ruled in one column, and one sheet is marked “ Confirmation of Orders ” ; and £45 ss. 9d. in cash, consisting of three £5 notes, twenty £1 notes, nine 10s. notes, £5 14s. 9d. in silver, and Is. in coppers. This money was enclosed in seventeen small cream-coloured pay-envelopes, marked as follows : Mr. Scott, £6 18s. 3d. ; Mr. Silcock, £4 18s. 9d. ; Mr. Hatchings, £5 11s. Id. Mr. Milner, £4 6s. lOd. ; Mr. Hill, £5 3s. Bd. ; Mr. C.
