Pukekohe. —On the 2nd instant the dwelling of PATRICK TOBIN, farmer, was broken into and the following stolen : An open cheque on the Bank of New Zealand, Pukekohe, No. 658332, in favour of P. Tobin, and signed Mary Rogers, dated 29/5/31 ; a Post Office Savings-bank book in complainant’s name, No. 229200 ; five £5 notes on the Bank of New Zealand ; and three £1 notes. Bank-book and cheque only identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Tom Tu Taaka, alias Tu Whakarara, referred to in Police Gazette, 1930, page 479, and Photographs, 1929, page 60. The suspect broke into the hut, bound complainant’s hands together, stole the property from his coat pocket, and subsequently attempted to cash a cheque for £2O in Auckland. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Maurice Victor Wallace, referred to in Police Gazette, 1929, page 57, and Photographs, 1921, page 85, who has been interviewed, but no evidence resulted.
