Hamilton. Between the 6th and 7th ultimo, from the dwelling of WILHELMINA OLSEN, Hui Hospital, Grey Street, a ladies’ brown leather purse, size 3 in. square ; an 18 ct. gold half-hoop ring, set with three opals and four diamonds, may have “ Lloyd ” stamped on inside ; a tenshilling note ; a Russian 5,000 rouble note ; and a German ten million mark note: total value, £ll 7s. 6d. Between the 27th and 29th ultimo the shop of RUBIN WELLS, 332 Ponsonby Road, was broken into and the following stolen : Eight sports coats, mostly Kaiapoi brand, various colours ; eight pairs of sports trousers ; twelve pairs of dark tweed trousers, mostly size three ; three navy velour overcoats ; four dark tweed overcoats ; twelve black sateen shirts ; nine black sateen shirts, Acme brand ; twelve fleecy-lined vests, different colours ; thirty-six handkerchiefs, different colours ; forty-eight white handkerchiefs, Pyramid brand; six shirts; six lumber jackets, Canterbury and Kaiapoi brands ; twelve stiff white collars ; five white silk scarves ; forty-eight ties : six felt hats ; twelve soft collars, Carlton brand ; a set of silk underwear ; three brown fibre suit-cases, sizes 16 in., 20 in., and 24 in. ; and 3s. 2d. in money : total value, £65. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Woman (name unknown), age about thirty-seven, height 5 ft. 5 in., stout build, fair complexion. She may be in possession of a Chevrolet motor-car.

New Plymouth. — the 27th and 28th ultimo the Railway Station, Normanby, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Railways Department), was broken into and £1 13s. 9ld. stolen from a safe, which was opened by means of explosives.

Raurimu. About March, 1922, the property of EFFROC ASHTON MOSLEY, 8 Delhi Street, Wairoa, a -455 sixchambered revolver, No. 45420, made by Smith and Wesson. Identifiable.

Wellington. 4th ultimo, the property of MARY MacEWAN, 38 Fitzherbert Terrace, a platinum brooch, size about 2 in. long by J in. wide, set with a large diamond in centre and about eighty small diamonds set in rows ; value, £65. Suspicion is attached to Woman (name unknown), age forty, height 5 ft. 4 in., medium build, sallow complexion, black hair, pimples on cheeks; wearing a black coat with grey fur on collar, and small black close-fitting hat. The suspect called at complainant’s shop and requested to be shown some clocks. After her departure the albert was missing, and later she endeavoured to dispose of it to a second-hand dealer.
