Circular No. 1/1927.] Members of the Felice Force acting as Glerks of Court giving Credit for Court Fees. The attention of members of the Police Force who act in the capacity of Clerks of Court is directed to the provisions of Section 166 of the Magistrate’s Court Act, 1908. Circular No. 2/27.] Electric-light Installations in Government Buildings. In view of the danger of fire resulting from unauthorized interference with electric-light fittings in departmental buildings, the Public Works Department has directed attention to the fact that it is a breach of the Electrical Wiremen’s Registration Act, 1925, for persons other than registered or licensed wiremen to interfere in any way with electrical wiring. Members of the Force occupying departmental offices or quarters are not to interfere with electrical installations therein in any way. When any defect becomes apparent such as a flickering lamp, a switch not operating properly, a damaged flexible cord, &c.the matter is to be immediately reported to the officer in charge of the district, so that he may arrange with the local Public Works Officer to have the necessary repairs effected by a licensed wireman. Alterations of the position of electric lights are not to be made, by pulling the flexible cords over with string ; if such alterations are necessary, authority should be obtained to have the work done by the Public Works Department. W. B. Mcllveney, Commissioner of Police. Wellington, 15th January, 1927. (P. 27/89.)

Circular No. 3/27.] Uniform Clothing. As the requirements of the sixth paragraph of Circular No. 13/17 are not being observed in many cases, it is hereby notified that in future the provisions of the circular must be strictly complied with. The report of the officer in charge of the district that the uniform has been made up must be accompanied by the receipt for payment of the tailoring. The receipt will be returned to the member of the Force concerned after notation by the officer in charge of the district, who will then forward the report to the Police Storekeeper to be filed with the clothing-issue voucher. If for any reason it is found that the uniform cannot be made up within a month of the issue of the material, an explanatory report must be furnished. W. B. Mcllveney, Commissioner of Police. Wellington, 17th January, 1927.
