INQUIRIES, ETC., FROM OUTSIDE NEW ZEALAND.
Melbourne (Victoria). —A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Alfred Sydney Arnold Du Bisson, charged with stealing at Adelaide on the 28th ultimo £316 10s., the property of his employers, Murray Aunger Motor Company (Limited), Franklin Street, Adelaide. Description : Age about thirty, height about 6 ft. 4 in., clerk, native of Australia, medium build, fair complexion, fair hair going bald, clean-shaved, long features ; well dressed and well educated. His photograph and a specimen of his handwriting are filed in the Commissioner’s Office, Wellington. (P. 25/962.)
Sydney (New South Wales).A‘warrant has been issued for the arrest of Adam Crow Halliday for, on the 23rd ultimo, obtaining £3 from George Buxton Popplewell by means of a valueless cheque for that amount. Description : Age fortythree, height about 5 ft. 7 in., gardener, native of Scotland, medium build, fair complexion, brown hair going bald, grey eyes, full face, -shaved, artificial upper teeth, two faint scars on right cheek near nose, woman’s head on right forearm, man’s head on left forearm ; dressed in a grey or brown sac suit, soft-felt hat, brown shoes, and dark-blue overcoat; slightly deaf. He may seek employment through seed and plant merchants or at nurseries. His arrest and extradition are desired. (P. 25/961.)
Adelaide (South Australia).— Two warrants have been issued for the arrest of Robert Scott for, on the 11th April last, at Tumby Bay, fraudulently converting £326 4s. 9d. to his own use, the property of John Aird Laurie ; and on the 19th May last, at Tumby Bay, obtaining £IOO from Horace Howard Swaffer by falsely representing that F. Lewis, of the General Havelock Hotel, Adelaide, owed him the sum of £1,400. Description: Age about thirty-six, height 5 ft. 6 in., ex-hotelkeeper, medium build, fair complexion and hair, cleanshaved, eyes partially closed; flashily dressed. He is supposed to have come to New Zealand en route to America, and inquiries at passport and shipping offices might assist in locating him.
