Auckland.— Between the Ist and 2nd ultimo from a bathroom in the Metropolitan Hotel, the property of FORREST GAYLE WYER, 12 St. Stephens Avenue, a gentlemen’s gold signet ring, with “ F.G.W.” in raised letters on it and set with two diamonds ; value, £25. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Norman James Dudson, age twenty-eight, height 5 ft. sin., hotel porter, native of New Zealand, slight build, sallow complexion, dark-brown hair, blue-grey eyes. lie has been interviewed, but up evidence resulted. r/// 'l/n.tJ
Auckland —On or about the 2nd August last, from a building, the property of JACK MARTIN, carpenter, 480 Queen Street, a brace (recovered), a spanner, a square, a wooden stock, and a firmer-chisel ; total value, £1 17s. Not identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Tom Jones (name probably fictitious), age about twenty-five, medium build ; dressed in a grey suit. The brace was recovered from Ficsher’s second-hand shop, where it was sold for 4s.
Auckland. 9th September last, from the person of FREDERICK PEEL, labourer, Hobson Street, while in the Prince of Wales Hotel, a pigskin purse, containing twenty £1 notes ; total value, £2O 2s. Not identifiable. Suspicion is. attached to — ( l-T Jack ValvoL age twenty-five^height 5 ft. 6 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, slight build, fresh complexion, black hair, hazel eyes ; dressed in a grey suit. (2.) Biddy Bennett, age twenty-five, height about 5 ft. 4 in., ex-jockey, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion and hair, blue o#es ; dressed in a grey suit. SMr /Ty 7// Auckland. 6th September last, from the person of FREDERICK BATES, bushman, Papakura, while in Queen Street, a brown pigskin wallet, with “ Fredrick Bates, Onslow Rd., Papakura,” on it, containing a £1 note and 10s. in silver ; total value, £3. Wallet only identifiable. Suspicion is attached to a Man (name unknown), age about twenty-two, height about 5 ft. 7 in., slight build, dark complexion ; dressed in a navy-blue suit and grey-felt/iat. /
Auckland.— the 23rd and 29th September last, from a trunk while in transit between Wanganui and Auckland (per railway), the property of CATHERINE LUCY CONSTANCE HATRICK, Wanganui, a green-silk knitted costume, a white crepe de Chine nightdress, two white crepe de Chine Princess slips with fillet lace edges, two pairs of pink-silk bloomers, four silk white and pink unlaucese vests, a pink-and-white crepe do Chine camisole, three white crepe de Chine and pink ribbon and lace brassieres, and a pair of white gauntlet gloves with black tops ; total value, £SO 4s. Identification doubtful.
Auckland. —Between the 4th and 6th ultimo the premises of COLLINSON AND WILLIAMS, drapers, Symonds Street, were broken into, and the following stolen therefrom: Eight striped tobralco and poplin skirts, a dark-grey coat, six gentlemen’s dark-felt hats (small sizes), and a quantity of socks, braces, ties, and collars with complainant’s names on some of them ; total value, £l4 Is. 3d. Not identifiable.
Auckland. 2sth September last, the property of FRANCIS VERNON,- Helensville, a gentlemen’s silver hunting keyless watch, No. 424311 ; a silver curb double watch-chain ; and about £6 : total value, about £l2 12s. 6d. Complainant lost his property while under the influence of liquor.
Te Aroha. —Bth ultimo, the property of EMILY JANE BEAGLE, 34 Cook Street, Hamilton, a black-leather handbag, pleated on one side, containing an 18 ct. gold watchchain, similar to illustration No. 24 in Police Gazette, 1911, page 2, with a silver sovereign-case and a dark petrified-wood pendant attached ; a gold engagement- set with three rubies and four small diamonds ; a gold wide band weddingring ; a gold band ring, set with a blue stone ; a gentlemen’s gold ring, with “G. 8.” on it; a gold wish-bone brooch with flowers on it; a gold-and 17th Reinforcements badge brooch; a gold-wire bangle; a gold-wire-and-coral-bead ba,ngle ; a small gold heart ; a silver wristlet small watch ; a pigskin purse (containing a 10s. note and Is. Id.); a repatriation card (No. A 316), and receipt with “ George Alfred Beagle on it; and a door key: total value, about £ls. Identifiable except money.
Klrikiriroa. Between September last and the 21st ultimo, from the dwelling of MARJORY REID in George Street, an 18 ct. gold wedding-ring; an 18 ct. gold engage-ment-ring, set with a large sapphire in centre and two at each side (one missing) with small diamonds between; an 18 ct. gold dress-ring, set with four or five red stones ; and an 18 ct. gold half-moon brooch, set with red stones : total value, £lB 15s. Identifiable.
Hamilton. —On or about the Ist September last, from the dwelling of ESTHER MURIEL MOODIE, 57 River Road, an 18 ct. gold engagement-ring, set with seven diamonds in cluster setting ; value, £3O. Identifiable.
Mokau. —16th ultimo, from a farm at Waikawau, the property of TUREITI, an aged half-draught black mare, 15 blinds, white blaze on face, hind legs and one fore leg white, branded WA on right shoulder, suffering from strangles; value, £ls. Uentifiabkv^^ !^ f / /
Palmerston North* —Between the 12th and 16th ultimo, from the shop of THOMAS TINGEY, 55 Main Street, two sets of stocks and dies (one die broken); an emery-wheel, about 4in. in diameter; a mitre-box saw, about 2ft. long: total value, £B. Identifiable. ,
Wellington. —F. W. BROWNE’S cheque-book, &c., stolen : It has now been ascertained that the cheque-book is on the Bank of New Zealand, Napier, No. A 709436 to A 709452. (See Police Gazette, 1924, page 600.)
Wellington. Between the 25th and 27th ultimo the warehouse of WRIGHT AND WITT, Victoria Street, was broken into and a roll of 50 yards of double-width navy-blue suiting with faint stripes (value £35, identifiable) stolen therefrom.
Taranaki Street (Wellington).— 6th ultimo, the property of SELINA SHEEHY, 74 Russell Terrace, a browncloth handbag, containing a grey-leather purse ; a small gold brooch, set with a pale amethyst; an insurance policy ; and about £3 : total value, about £4 10s. Identifiable except money. Complainant’s handbag was stolen whilst she was unconscious as a result of an accident in Willis Street.
Christchurch.— JOHN CHAMBERS AND SON’S bicycle stolen : It has now been ascertained that the number of the bicycle is “267,” not “ 17099.” (See Police Gazette, 1924, page 404.)

Temuka. 27th ultimo, from outside WILLIAM CHARLES MILES’S dwelling at Winchester, a gentlemen’s blackenamelled 24 in. bicycle, red tire on front wheel, Bates tire on back wheel, upturned handles ; value, £8 10s. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Charles Frederick Brown, referred to in Police Gazette, 1924, page 598, arid Persons wanted, this imic - s« /7 // x / -» cf_
Invercargill. —On the 28th ultimo the dwelling of JOHN DINNEN GILMORE, 162 Don Street, was broken into, and the following stolen therefrom : A rolled-gold wristlet watch ; a green enamel wristlet small watch, with a ribbon attached ; a metal Globen watch with luminous dial; a brown-leather wallet; and a V.P.K. camera : total value, £7 10s. Identifiable.
