Houhora. 2oth June last, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife, Miriam Antunovich, Waiharara, Mate Antunovich, alias Antonio, age thirty-three, height 6 ft. 1 in., gumdigger and labourer, native of Dalmatia, medium build, sallow complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, clean-shaved, sharp features ; dressed in a grey suit and/cap. Auckland. 24th ultimo, that he may be induced to maintain his wife, Anne Mansfield, St. Heliers Bay, and three children, Richard Mansfield, age forty-seven, height 6 ft. 1J in., accountant (now a racecourse-guesser), native of England, medium build, fresh complexion, grey hair, blue eyes, cleanshaved ; usually wtJLdressed ; erect gait; wears glasses. Auckland.-A February last, for false pretences, Edwin Alfred Leonard, age twenty-two, height 5 ft. 7 in., butcher, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion, curly dark brown hair, hazel eyes, scar on left wrist; dressed in a grey suit and light-felt hat. Accused obtained two ties, a mercerized poplin shirt, a heliotrope shirt, a suit, a Stetson hat, and a pair of brown shoes (size 7), total value £l3 7s. Bd., from John Court (Limited), drapers, &c., Queen Street, by falsely representing that he was A. Dowling, Hikurangi. No warrant. (See Police Gazette, 1924, page 338.)

Auckland. —4th July last, for theft and forgery, Doris Waldron, alias Brown, alias Boyd, age about twenty-four, height about 5 ft. 6 in., domestic and hotel worker, medium build, brown hair (buster cut), blue eyes ; may be dressed in a navy-blue-gabardine costume, black or red shoes with white stockings, red-velvet poke bonnet-shaped hat, and a brown-velour coat with Astrakhan on cuffs and on bottom. Accused, who with Winifred Paul, occupied in Beach House, Milford, a bedroom, from which she stole a Post Office Savingsbank book (recovered), forged the signature of Winifred Paul to a withdrawal receipt for £4O 9s. 9d., and obtained the amount from the Savings-bank. She may be identical with Doris H. Brown, referred to in Police Gazette, 1924, page 000, and may be accompanied by a boy .age five, No warrant. Auckland. 22nd ultimo, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his three children, Albert Victor Clark, alias William Henry Walker, alias Albert Victor Mitch, age thirty-two, height 5 ft. in., cook, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, light-brown hair, blue eyes, scar on left jaw and between right thumb and forefinger. Sin., labourer, native of New Zealand, strong build, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair, large blue eyes, clean-shaved ; dressed in a blue suit, dark-grey-felt hat, and dark overcoat, and wears a ring with locket and “ J.E.D.” on it; slightly deaf ; limps.

Gisborne. — lsth September last, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Elsie May Stanbridge, John Stephen Stanbridge, age forty-four, height 5 ft. 10 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, strong build, fair tanned complexion, curly dark hair, blue bloodshot eyes, slightly crooked nose, fair moustache, dent in back of head, prominent front teeth ; coarse appearance ; fond of horse-racing ; speaks through his teeth. He is probably accompanied by Lily Patty, age twenty-three, a quarter-cast Maori. Arrears to 15th September last, £l2.

Stratford. sth July last, that she may be compelled to maintain her daughter, Sarah Webberley, age about fortyeight, height about 5 ft. 6 in., domestic, native of New Zealand, slight build, prominent nose, thin face ; wearing a black hat with wide rim. Inquiry by William Hendrick, drover, Hamletgreet ■ 27/<; / 4', Palmerston North. —23rd August last, that a summons for failing to attend drill may be served upon him, Arthur James Brown, age seventeen, height 6 ft., labourer, native of New Zealand, slight build, dark-brown hair, deep-set darkbrown eyes, prominent nose ; usually well dressed.

Palmerston North. —22nd ultimo, on warrant for failing to maintain his illegitimate child, of whom Ivy Myrtle Smith, 25 Bourke Street, is the mother, Harry Downie, alias Paddy Downie, age about thirty, height 6 ft. labourer and freezingworks hand, native of Australia, medium build, fresh complexion, curly light-brown hair, brown eyes, large nose, long fingers ; usually dressed in a navy-blue suit, light-coloured Stetson hat, and grey overcoat; limps slightly. Wellington. lßth instant, for unlawfully using a motorcar (recovered), value £2OO, the property of William Cahill, Spears Street, Karori, Man (name unknown), age about twenty height about 5 ft. 7 in., slight build, fair complexion, grey eyes, thin features ; dressed in a grey suit and light-felt hat; smart appearance ; quick speech. He stole the car from Courtenay Place and abandoned it in a swamp near Pahautanui. No warrant.

Wellington. 29th ultimo, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order, James Currie, age twenty-eight, height 5 ft. 6.} in., motor-driver, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion and hair, blue eyes, long nose, scar on back of left hand. Accused was before the Court on above charge on the 22nd ultimo, and was remanded to the 29th, when he failed appear. (Bee Police Gazette, 1924, page. 610.)

Wellington.—Christopher Martis, alias George Marshall, failing to appear to plead to indictment: It has been ascertained by the Auckland police that he is now serving a sentence of six months at Sydney (New South Wales) for being a suspected person. He had assumed the names Charles Herbert and Christopher Martin. His photograph is filed in the Inspector’s Office, Christchurch. Temuka. —20th ultimo, for Hie ft; of a bicycle (recovered), value £4, the property of Eric Ilddley, schoolboy, Seadown, Charles Frederick Brown, age forty- height about 5 ft. 8 in., labourer, native of England, strong build, fresh complexion, dark hair, brown eyes, clean-shaved ; dressed in a dark suit and hat. Dunedin. 2lst ultimo, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Margaret Smith, William Henry Smith, age thirty-eight, height 5 ft. 9 in., shearer, native of Australia, medium build, ruddy complexion, auburn hair, grey eyes, long nose, scar on left ring-finger; usually dressed in a dark suit. On or about 3rd April last, on warrant for theft of £2 10s., the property of Robert Harry Alexander Jeff, farmer, Joseph Greenwood, age about thirty-nine, height 5 ft. 5 in., horse-breaker, native of New Zealand, thin build, fair complexion, brown hair going bald, brown eyes ; usually dressed in a blue-serge suit and soft-felt hat; fond of drink ; talkative and plausible. Accused, who was employed by complainant to travel a stallion in the district, collected £2 10s. and failed to account for it to his employer. He spoke frequently about his mother owning property at Greenwood’s Comer, Auckland?} , /.
